Level Crossing Removal Project –Webster Street, Dandenong

Level Crossing Removal Project –Webster Street, Dandenong

The level crossing at Webster Street is close to Dandenong’s busy central business district.

Boom gates can be down for more than 52% of the morning peak, and during this time up to 43 trains run through the crossing.

Technical investigations for this crossing are ongoing to help determine the best way to remove the crossing.

The Webster Street level crossing is being removed as part of the Cranbourne Line Upgrade. This vital upgrade will:

  • fully duplicate track between Dandenong and Cranbourne

  • remove the last level crossings on the line

  • build a new Merinda Park Station.
